"Go Outside and Play!"

Like most of the country we have had a sweltering hot summer! Thankfully, last week, the Lord brought us a break from the heat and blessed us with some much needed rain and cooler temps! Since it had been too hot to go outside and play most of the summer, we have had a lot of togetherness and time in front of screens. I had had it! I shooed the kids outside! (Well, Luke will play outside rain or shine, hot or cold, but he was napping, so this doesn't pertain to him.) I forced them to go ride their bikes! Can you imagine such a thing, kids riding bikes?! You would have thought I asked them to do the impossible. I must be the meanest mom around! Making kids play outside...the nerve! Ben and Abby weren't thrilled. They tried several times to come in, but I wasn't having it! It was way too nice outside to be in the house!

I looked outside and this is what I saw...


Don't they look happy to be out there! HA! I really didn't care if they were happy or not, I just cared that they were outside enjoying a beautiful day! (See...mean mom! :)) I know that one of these days they will be begging for time to go play outside! Right?
