Super Saturday in OKC!

The first time I went to Pops I knew that I wanted to take my family there when they came for a visit. I had bought an online deal that needed to be used by the end of May, so this was the prefect time to go.
It was awesome and delicious as always and I think everyone really enjoyed it!

It doesn't make sense to drive 2 1/2 hours just to go to lunch so I thought this would be a good time to check out the Oklahoma City Zoo. I love going to the zoo and Luke had never really been to the zoo. (He went when he was really little! I'm not a completely terrible mama!)
Shocking! Mom is taking a picture! Ha ha ha ha!! :)
We were all pretty excited about getting to see this new baby elephant. She was born April 15 and was a cute as could be! Luke still talks about the baby elephant almost every day!
I think the zebras saw us coming with our cameras and posed for us!
Poor Nolan was so sleepy! Thank goodness we had the wagon!
It was SO hot and the kids were SO good that we decided that they needed a treat! What could be better than ice cream?! YUM!!

I talked to Jon on the way home and found out that the guys decided to cut their adventure short and they would be home when we got home. Oh, the stories we heard when we got home! That post will come later. :)

Later that night we had a girl only dinner! YAY!! We headed downtown to a local restaurant and had a great time! The service was terrible but there was live, karaoke type, music which made it SO fun! I know Rebecca and I really enjoyed singing along with the songs that we knew! We girls had a fun time!

I love spending time with family!!

Pops!

A while back I bought a deal on livingsocial.com for Pops! We went to Pops last May and loved it, so I couldn't pass up the deal! I thought it would be a great place to go over spring break. We opted for Tuesday because it is $2 Burger Day! ANY burger on the menu was only $2! Amazing!
It was a gorgeous day for a drive on Route 66! I am SO happy to see the trees in bloom!
I just thought this was cool artwork on the corner in a small town on Route 66.
It was hilarious watching Ben try to open his bottle of pop! He finally ended up going inside to have it opened with a bottle opener!
We had to wait an hour to be seated, so Abby, Ben and Jon started out with their first drinks. Abby: Stewart's Orange Cream Soda
Ben: Leninade (Russian lemonade?)
Jon: Faygo Original Redpop
Aren't we cute?! :)
While we were waiting outside we saw this B-2 fly over. (I think that's what Jon said it was.)
This was truly YUM!
I was so happy that it was such a gorgeous day outside since we had to wait so long for a table! It made the wait seem like nothing since we could play outside!
Boys will be boys, no matter what their age!
My happy girl!
Last time we were at Pops Ben couldn't find Vernor's. (He has come to love it as much as Jon and I do!) He was thrilled to find it this time!
I opted for a traditional fountain Diet Coke! It doesn't get any better than that!

We had a fun time being together as a family on a gorgeous spring break day! If you are ever in the area and are looking for something fun to do, check out Pops! We love it!

Pops & Route 66

On our way home from Oklahoma City we opted to take Route 66.
We had been told quite a while ago about a place called, "Pops" (click on the Pops link and read more about it!) that is located on Route 66 just outside of OKC. Since we weren't in any hurry to get home and it was around lunchtime we thought we would check it out. They are known for having a HUGE variety of pop from all around the world! 500 varieties!

This place is literally out in the middle of nowhere!!!
These were the first three varieties Jon, Ben and Abby chose. I took the sissy route and got fountain Diet Coke. (I wanted free refills and they had styrofoam cups! I love styrofoam cups!!)

Ben's pop was from El Salvador!

This is only a few of the coolers! There are MANY more!!
Ben's next choice: All about Russia!

Jon's second pop: Dublin Dr. Pepper. Made with with imperial pure can sugar!! He loved it!!

Even Luke got a little taste! He didn't like it at all! (But this child doesn't even like juice, so that wasn't a huge surprise.)

That is one HUGE bottle! I would love to see it in the dark! (It lights up!)

Made me feel very small!

I have to say, their burgers and onion rings were FABULOUS!!!!!

The rest of our drive home was so pretty! Route 66 was nice! No busy-ness! Just pretty!

Small town America!

Ahhhh.....a nice drive in the country with my feet propped up! Nice!!
