Blue Bell Ice Cream

I have lived in Oklahoma for two years and had never been to the Blue Bell ice cream plant. Maybe it's the 100+ degree temps that made me think about going there! Who knows, but I'm glad we went! This is good, cheap fun! Only a dollar or two for those over age six and a huge scoop of ice cream is included at the end!
Only 50 cents for an extra scoop!
We definitely took advantage of that offer!!
This seems like a pretty neat company to work for! Our tour guide said that the turnover is very low! Darn! I was thinking about going back to work! (No, not really...)
A waiting milk truck.
Decisions.....
Decisions.....
(My personal favorite was the Banana Split!)
Peace, Love & Ice Cream!
SO many choices! I think I'll take the little guy on the floor!
Come visit me in Oklahoma and I will take you there!!!

Automatic Craziness

I've seen automatic flushing toilets, sensored water faucets, soap dispensers and hand dryers. I've even seen toilets that have the protective covering (instead of the tissue paper kind that you pull out and place on the seat.) that moves when you are finished! But I had never seen this before...
An automatic toilet paper dispenser! Like it's so hard to pull yourself! CRAZY!!!

Car Trouble: Murphy's Law or Satan?

Murphy's Law: "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." Or is it just Satan not wanting Mom and I to go to Tulsa for the woman's conference? We drove her car Friday night since we figured it to be more reliable! HA HA!!! We stopped by Wal-Mart on our way home to pick up the laundry soap and toilet paper to take to the conference the next morning. Of course, when we came out the car wouldn't start! Jon had to come pick us up! (Of course he was asleep since it was about 11:30p.m.!) We thought that we would check back in the morning and see if the car would start. If so, we would take it back to my house and have Jon check it out. If not, Mom would have it towed to my house and then Jon could check it out. The car still didn't start.

When we got back from Tulsa Saturday evening the car still wouldn't start. It sounded like it wanted to, but just wouldn't give in.
Mom called AAA and the tow truck came.
This guy must have some kind of magic touch that we didn't, because he got in the car, turned the key and, wouldn't you know it..... the car started!! Of course!

Just wait it gets better! So Mom gets in her car to drive back to my house and I get in my car to drive home and what do you think happened? My car wouldn't start!!!!! What in the world?!?!?
I am SO thankful that Jon has some knowledge of cars! He figured out what the problem was with Mom's car and had it fixed in no time! Seriously, less than an hour!!

After he finished with Mom's car we went to Wal-Mart to check out his car. (The one we ended up taking to Tulsa.) Guess what....... It started!!!

Going Beyond with Priscilla Shirer

I had never heard of Priscilla Shirer before I went to this event. But as soon as I heard (while in OKC in December) that she was going to be in Tulsa in August, I knew I would be there! In fact, I registered my mom to go with me as her Christmas gift! I was so excited!
(I know some of these pictures are blurry, but I really wanted to share them!)
Sheesh! Is this a sign of the times, or what?!
All ready!!
This woman can speak! I think the Lord told her exactly what I needed to hear and that she was speaking directly to me! (Of course she had to make everyone else think she was talking to them too...) Isn't it amazing how you can be in the process of learning something and then go to something like this (or anywhere!) and hear the same things or something along the same lines?! I think that means I have something specific that the Lord is saying to me!
On this first night we studied Genesis 28:10-16. Jacob was "sleepwalking". Am I sleepwalking? Am I trying to hurry or sleep through the tough or boring time in my life? I don't want to be afraid of the "certain places" and miss out on what God has for me right now! I know that God loves me and is going to take care of me no matter what!

We were able to participate in helping out a local woman's shelter by bringing laundry detergent and toilet paper. This is only a small portion of what was brought! Simple, yet amazing!

Me and Mom waiting in line. :)

Saturday was another great day of studying and learning! This time we were in Luke 24 learning about people who had been with Jesus and not even known it! Can you imagine missing out on Jesus?! Unfortunately, I think that has happened to me and I don't want it to happen again! I want my eyes to be open so that I don't miss what He has for me!
Praying over all of the prayer cards that were turned in.
Priscilla's brother, Anthony Evans did the music, and it was excellent! The whole praise team was GREAT!
Later, at the end of the second day, Anthony was telling us about a time that he had to sing the Star Spangled Banner at an event and found out that President Bush and former Indianapolis Colt's coach, Tony Dungy were going to be there. Nervous!! (That's Priscilla & Anthony's dad on the right.!
Well, he ended up singing it for us and it was AMAZING!!! I wish I knew how to post it on here for you to hear, but I'm not that smart! Just go to his website (click on his name up above) and listen to it!
He later received this e-mail from Tony Dungy! What a blessing!
Brother and sister - So cute!
Overall, the conference was GREAT! The Lord definitely spoke to me through Priscilla Shirer!

As an added bonus, we found out that Priscilla was doing a book signing at a local bookstore. We definitely didn't want to miss out on that!
Me, Priscilla & Mom!
Signing my book.I can't wait to dive in to this book!
This is one amazing woman of God! I appreciate her love for the Lord and her willingness to serve in woman's ministry!

It was so nice to get to spend time with my mom without the kids for the weekend! After the conference we splurged and went to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory! YUM!!

Ben Is Back!

Ben is finally back from Grammy's house! It's nice to have all three kids back at home at one time! Just in time to go back to school...

Tie-Dying Fun

Last week at VBS we tie-dyed socks as a service project. Abby and I ended up with the bug to go home and tie-dye shirts. We gathered all of our supplies, put Luke to bed and headed outside to see what we could come up with. I tie-dyed shirts in high school using the rubber band method with circles all over the place. Abby and I wanted to do something more fun than that!
Abby chose the "bullseye" (or flower as she prefers to call it) pattern.
I tried for the swirl pattern. (For Luke)
I suppose I should have used the gloves that were provided in the package...
This is how Abby's turned out!
And here is Luke's!
I think they turned out GREAT!
We will definitely be doing this again!

Ben's Lego Creations II

I am so proud of how creative Ben is! If you don't know Ben, he LOVES Lego's!! His dream in life is to move to California and be a Lego builder! Anytime he has spare time he is building Lego's! Here is a sampling of what I recently found on his camera. (I am also thoroughly impressed with his photography skills!)
I know this isn't anything that Ben built, but he bought this book not too long ago and took a ton of pictures of the pictures inside! He takes this thing everywhere he goes!
Building at Grammy's house.

I believe this is a representation of Ben and his two best friends, Luke and Sam.
Check out the details! I love it!!

Frog

I love what he did with the color!
So cool!

Last week my mom took Ben to the Legoland Discovery Center in Chicago. I'm pretty sure Grammy is ranking pretty high up right now!
Ben's in heaven, I'm sure!
That's just Ben being himself! It's so hard to believe that these are all made completely out of Lego's!!

Ben has been in Indiana for over a week and is probably going through withdrawal without his Lego's! I will be shocked if he doesn't end up with a career in architecture or Lego's someday!
I am so proud of you, Ben!
