Eskimo Joe's

Abby has been dying to have an Eskimo Joe's shirt for about as long as we have lived in Oklahoma! Last fall we were at the mall in Tulsa and saw that they have an Eskimo Joe's shop. She has been begging me to buy her a shirt from there and every time I tell her that I would really rather go to the real Eskimo Joe's and then she could get one there! Well, she finally got her shot! We decided that as long as we were going to Oklahoma City to go to the Lego store for Ben, we could take a different route home and stop by Eskimo Joe's for dinner. Abby was so excited!

Dinner there was awesome, but more importantly,

Abby got her shirt!

Family Getaway!

Our family was in desperate need of some family time and a break from "home" life. We decided to take a little time out and head to Oklahoma City for the weekend. Part of the reason we opted for OKC was because they had opened a new Lego store there this summer. So, that was our first stop. If you know anything about Ben, you know that he is a Lego freak! There is nothing he loves more! (I'm quite sure that girls are a VERY close second, which I'm sure is bound to change soon!) He was so excited about going and was so overwhelmed when we finally got there. He was so afraid of spending his money on the wrong thing. He knew what he wanted before we ever left home, but once faced with all of the options it was funny watching him try to choose! (He ended up getting what it was that he had his mind set on ahead of time!)








We also enjoyed spending some time in Bricktown! Jon and I had been there a few years ago and loved it! We really enjoyed walking along the river walk! It is so beautiful!
















The hotel we stayed at was awesome! (Thanks for the recommendation, Athena!) It was the most conveniently located, kid friendly place I have ever stayed! Once we got check in we parked the van and walked everywhere! Nice! The pool was the best!!! It was like going to the waterpark, but it was the hotel pool! We will definitely stay there again next time we go to OKC!

Luke was just plain wore out by the end of it all!

What more can I say?
Abby had brought Ben's Lego table out to the living room and fill up the center bag with toys. Luke proceeded to climb up on top of the table and throw all of the toys on the floor! Nice! (And, of course, I had to take a picture before making him get down! Duh!)

Ben's 12th Birthday!

I think this will be one of Ben's most memorable birthdays! His two very best friends, Luke and Sam, came down from Hutchinson, KS to spend the day with us. There is no need to make plans when these boys are around because they are the best at finding things to do on their own! I am always amazed at the fact that having an odd number has never been a problem! They get along so well and no one is ever left out! These boys are the best!!!
